It could be rank based (achieve a certian rank in a determined amount of time)
or physical fitness based (run a mile in under X, or do X number of pushups in 3 min, etc)
or even making a specific squad (color guard, drill team, etc)
I was in it for 3 years. You talking PERSONAL goals for UNIT goals?
If it’s unit you should makes goals to
-Raise overall Unit GPA
-Raise Unit Attendance
-Increase participation in drill-team and extracurricular activities
-fund-raise money for your unit
-increase field trips
-etc.
You can try to set a goal to reach the highest rank possible for a LET 1 cadet. Like my school has a Army Junior ROTC unit and the highest rank possible for LET 1 is Corporal. Set a goal to join teams, like Armed Exhibition Drill Team, Unarmed Drill Team, Rifle Team, Orienteering team, and/or Raider team.
I’m going to be in LET 1 this year and I’m going to be in Armed Exhibition Drill Team and Rifle team.
Your unit goal should be profiency in areas that are instructed at AF boot camp. Shouldnt JROTC be an intro to the AF? Get golf lessons, learn the differance between the officer club and nco club, practice going exactly the speed limit so the AF MP’s wont pull you over. Dont worry about marksmanship, you’ll never use it…you will have the latest DOD weapons, railed out, with cool scopes lights…also a sidearm..yeah. Really though, press your uniform and shine ur boots, chix dig uniforms regardless of branch…your goal should be to play the part…if you look squared away, act squared away, talk squared away…even if you are a total s***bag, you will be looked at as being squared away..so learn that, Aim high
From all my experience, TEAMWORK and MOTIVATION are all you need to be successful. Teach them to reach those goals. It does not matter how skilled your cadets are, if they can not work as a team and are not motivated, they are not good enough for the regionals.
To teach this goals, I would make them do community services. Doing community service will help a lot in developing the skills to be a successful leader.
In Marine Leadership, Integrity being the most important Leadership Trait and Set The Example for principle. Even though there is 14 traits and 11 principle, those 2 is all that matter into becoming a leader.
I had my years being in a Marine JROTC Battalion and we never won a single event. This one Army battalion always get first place against 6 others in the Brigade and they install those 2 key words into their cadets.
JROTC sucks i hated it they take it so seriously it’s like this is for pretend not real you shouldn’t take it so seriously
